Inductive Positioning SystemsInductive Positioning Systems
Various industrial positioning systems for high precision detection of linear movements and rotations are available. Our inductive positioning systems are resistant to external contamination. Need to connect your controller? Our inductive positioning systems  provide configurable outputs and data interfaces.
Distance Measurement SensorsDistance Measurement Devices
Distance measurement sensors from Pepperl+Fuchs use the optical concept of Pulse Ranging Technology (PRT). With modern PRT, distances to 300 m with accuracies of 0.1 mm are easily achieved.

Position Encoding System WCSPosition Encoding System WCS
For positioning over longer travel paths, the position encoding system WCS excels in systems with curves, switchpoints, inclines, or declines. With measurement lengths to 327 m, WCS is suitable for position detection in warehousing, material handling and automated conveyor systems, crane positioning, elevators, and much more...
Data Matrix Positioning System PCVData Matrix Positioning System PCV
The Data Matrix Positioning System uses Data Matrix codes, which are arranged side by side on a code reel as an information carrier. The reading head, based on modern camera technology, captures these two-dimensional codes and evaluates the exact position in X- and Y directions - up to 10,000 meters.
Electronic CAM-Switch Controller PAXElectronic CAM-Switch Controller PAX
PAX is a non-contact electronic CAM-Switch Controller and is used with the PMI inductive angle sensor. Easily capture machine shaft position without expensive, time-consuming mechanical cams! Configure up to 14 switch outputs and 6 analog outputs via the intuitive, integrated software.

Versatile industrial sensors and sensor systems

Determining positions with pinpoint accuracy is an essential task in numerous industrial processes. Depending on the application in question, the process may involve determining the position of linear shifting units such as workpiece or tool carriers, detecting angles for valve actuators, or even monitoring the position of a vehicle on an automated conveyor in storage, warehousing, and material handling operations.

Pepperl+Fuchs offers non-contact industrial sensors and sensor systems for use in these applications.

Inductive positioning systems

Application with Inductive Positioning System
Path measurement systems are available to determine precise linear and rotational movements. Pepperl+Fuchs’ inductive positioning system works flawlessly in dusty and dirty environments. Measurement lengths range from just a few millimeters to several meters, or an angular range of 360°. In addition to standard analog outputs to display the position, switch point outputs for limit value are easily configured. These positioning systems make it possible to react quickly to process changes.

Distance measurement sensors from Pepperl+Fuchs use the optical concept of Pulse Ranging Technology (PRT).

With modern Pulse Ranging Technology (PRT) distances up to 300 m with accuracies of 0.1 mm are easily achieved.

The advantages of PRT are:

  • Accuracy
  • Noise immunity
  • Uniqueness
  • Target independence
  • Sensing range

For positioning over longer travel paths, the position encoding system WCS, the position encoding system WCS excels in systems with curves, switchpoints, inclines, or declines. With measurement lengths of up to 327 meters, WCS is suitable for position detection in:

  • Warehousing, material handling, and automated conveyor systems
  • Studio systems
  • Crane positioning
  • Galvanic equipment
  • Elevators ... and much more

WCS can also be used to identify vehicles in conveyor systems, while at the same time positioning those vehicles with millimeter accuracy.
